Resilient Homes Fund Toowoomba
Recovering From Flood Impact Toowoomba
The Resilient Homes Fund is a jointly funded initiative by the Queensland and Australian Governments.
The Resilient Homes Fund is a $741 million program that provides funding and assists eligible flood-impacted homeowners to repair, retrofit, raise or demolish, rebuild or relocate their homes.
Toowoomba homes damaged by flood are encouraged to register to be considered for three program options: Resilient Repair or Retrofit, Home Raising or Rebuild or Home Buy-Back.
Eligible flooding events
Funding is available to both insured and uninsured homeowners.
- Central, southern, and western Queensland rainfall and flooding: 10 November to 3 December 2021
- Ex-tropical cyclone Seth: 29 December 2021 to 10 January 2022
- South-east Queensland rainfall and flooding: 22 February to 5 April 2022
- Southern Queensland flooding: 6 to 20 May 2022.
Repair or retrofit your home Toowoomba
The Resilient Retrofit program provides funding to repair (enhance resilience) or retrofit your home to:
- Incorporate flood resilient design and materials in liveable rooms or areas
- Raise or relocate services essential to the continued liveability of the home.
Raise your home Toowoomba
The Home Raise program provides funding to raise your home to reduce the impacts of future flood events.
- You would need to raise your habitable floors to meet or exceed the required assessed flood level.
Based on the requirements of your local council and the 2021-2022 flood event level.
Demolish and rebuild or relocate your home
You may be eligible for financial assistance to demolish and rebuild or relocate your home above the assessed flood level and 2021-2022 flood event level.
- This may include demolishing part of your home and relocating it.
This may be available for homes that cannot practically be raised, such as those built on concrete slabs.
Important information for Home Raising program
Market conditions, cost of living pressures and ongoing recovery from flood damage is making it challenging to raise homes, even with the grant funding currently available.
That’s why the government are progressing changes to increase funding for eligible works from $100,000 to $150,000. This means eligible homeowners will have access to an additional $50,000 of government funding before they need to contribute.
The QLD Resilient Homes Fund
have announced that the
1st of December 2025
